Lifeline plays a leading role in delivering suicide prevention and crisis support services across Australia. Lifeline responds to over 1.3million contacts a year, from suicide prevention, vital safety planning, counselling services, aftercare for grief and loneliness and specialised support for vulnerable population groups. We are there to help ensure no-one falls through the gaps in a complicated system – that when someone asks for help, we are there – no matter who they are or where they come from.
Lifeline is the vital catch-all for Australians across the country seeking support in a national mental health system with long wait times and increasing complexity. Our support services are a destination for help and make it easier to access and navigate a complicated system. Through Lifeline Centres, Members deliver locally based suicide prevention and crisis response initiatives, helping communities strengthen their capacity to be suicide safe and respond efficiently and effectively to local needs.
